BARIATRIC SURGERIES
INTRAGASTRIC BALLOON
The intragastric balloon is a soft, expandable, and resistant balloon. It is a weight-loss option that can be put into place without surgery through a procedure called an endoscopy. This innovative device lasts for 6 months, during which time it will help reduce food intake, helping the patient to lose weight by feeling satisfied with less food. At Innovare Bariatría, we have three intragastric balloon options: Allurion Gastric Balloon, Spatz3 Adjustable Gastric Balloon, Orbera Gastric Balloon.
BARICLIP
A new option for weight loss surgery; it is a reversible outpatient process. The BariClip is a device with silicone-coated titanium bars that is set in place through minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. It reduces the stomach’s capacity, generating a feeling of fullness in the patient with less food. The BariClip performs the same function as the gastric sleeve, but with fewer risks.
GASTRIC BYPASS
The Gastric Bypass is a weight loss surgical procedure which consists of creating a small sac from the stomach and connecting it to the small intestine. This sac is made with the use of endostaplers that section and staple the tissue. The procedure is performed laparoscopically under general anesthetic.
GASTRIC CORSET
The Gastric Corset or Gastroplication is an innovative mini surgery with many benefits. It is performed by laparoscopy, under general anesthesia. The procedure involves folding the stomach on itself to reduce the volume of the stomach by approximately 70%, providing a similar effect to that of the gastric sleeve. Unlike other procedures, this surgery does not cut or staple the stomach tissue.
METABOLIC CORSET
The Metabolic Corset is an innovative surgery proposed by Dr. Gabriel Galván. It is a laparoscopic option for weight loss, a procedure based on existing techniques such as the Gastric Corset and the Gastric Bypass. In this surgery, the curvature of the stomach is stitched and connected to the small intestine, which means that less food is absorbed, providing a metabolic effect.
GASTRIC SLEEVE
The Gastric Sleeve is a highly effective surgical procedure for weight loss, in which the size of the stomach is reduced by approximately 80%, which causes a considerable decrease in the patient's appetite. This surgery is done under general anesthetic using laparoscopy. A long section is made in the stomach using endostaples, giving the organ the appearance of a sleeve or tube.
MINI BYPASS
The Mini Bypass is a bariatric surgery similar to the Gastric Bypass, but less invasive. This procedure is performed laparoscopically, under general anesthetic and consists of sectioning and stapling the stomach tissue, reducing its capacity, then subsequently connecting it to the intestine. This method differs from the Bypass in that the connection is between the stomach and the intestine without making a connection between both intestines.
SADI-S BYPASS
The SADI-s Bypass is a new and effective surgical procedure for weight loss. In this surgery, the stomach is made smaller by laparoscopy. During this procedure, a gastric tube is created first followed by a duodenal bypass. It is ideal for patients with morbid obesity and diseases such as diabetes or metabolic syndrome.
SASI BYPASS
The Sasi Bypass is a surgery that is performed by laparoscopy to create a gastric sleeve that connects to the intestine. This surgical method is relatively new and is ideal for patients with type 2 diabetes and morbid obesity
